Overview: The Schuylkill Action Network (SAN) is providing one full scholarship ($620 value) for the 19th annual Schuylkill River Sojourn from June 3-9, 2017. The SAN is seeking an enthusiastic individual with paddling, photography, and social media experience. The Sojourn Steward will photograph wildlife he/she sees during the Sojourn and will conduct water quality testing twice a day. The Steward will help tell the story of the water quality along the Schuylkill River, connecting to the Sojourn’s theme “I Protect the Schuylkill.”
Sojourn Steward Expectations:
• Participate in the entire Schuylkill River Sojourn (Sat, June 3 – Fri, June 9, 2017).
• Take photos of wildlife spotted along the trip.
• Conduct water quality sampling twice a day (during lunch and evening kayak take-out locations).
• Post social media updates to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram during lunch and evening.
• Write daily short blogs (2-3 paragraphs) each evening.
• Present at the end of Sojourn about your experience.
