It is the intent of the Amity Township Board of Supervisors to promote the general health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the Township and to conform to the requirements of the Pennsylvania Construction Code Act and the regulations of the Act promulgated by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.
Ordinance #351 adopted the UCC and amended some provisions and requirements as to work that requires a building permit. This table provides a brief summary of what types of improvements, alterations and repairs require a permit, per Amity Township Ordinances. Beginning January 1, 2026, all designs moving forward must be compliant with the 2021 International Codes, as amended and adopted by the Pa Labor & Industry. Designs already started prior to Jan 1, 2026, may still use the 2018 I-Codes, however, the design AND a Permit Application must be completed and submitted prior to July 1, 2026. After July 1, 2026, all designs submitted must meet the 2021 I-Codes.
A Sewer Lateral and I&I inspection are required for the resale of any improved property connected to the public sewer system; however, No U&O Inspection required for resale of Residential Properties.
