POLICE OFFICER

Amity Township is accepting applications for a full-time police officer.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Minimum age 21, good physical condition, high school graduate (or equivalent).
  • Applicants must have completed the Municipal Police Officer Education and Training Commission Certification (Act 120)
  • Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License
  • Must be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer, as defined by the Municipal Police Officer Education and Training Commission

The hiring process will consist of the following:

Oral Exam 

  • A select number of applicants will be notified of dates and times of their interview(s)
  • Each applicant will be scored to include Veteran’s Points, if applicable
  • A hiring list will be established, with the top ranked applicant proceeding to the background process

Background process will include credit/reference checks, to include a polygraph exam

WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT LABORER

An Employee in this position will need to be involved in the Wastewater Treatment Plant while performing a variety of skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled duties pertaining to the Amity Township Waste Water Treatment Plant, requiring strenuous physical effort and occasional exposure to inclement working conditions. Refer to Job Description below for further details (Note work hours are 7:00am to 3:00pm November to April – 6:00am to 3:00pm Mon to Thurs and 6:00am to 10:00am Friday May thru October). Overtime every third weekend and possible during weather events and road dept. assistance. Subject to Wastewater Treatment Superintendent direction.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  2. Skill & Knowledgeable in routine plant maintenance of equipment, vehicles, buildings, grounds, unclogging pumps valves, pipes, some minor electric work(minimum 1-years).
  3. Ability to learn operation of new equipment and specialized pieces.
  4. Valid CDL required
  5. Valid Class B Type 1 Wastewater License
  6. Ability to learn new techniques, applications and procedures and make recommendations to the Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent.
  7. Ability to carry out both verbal & written instructions
  8. Sufficient physical strength, stamina, and freedom from disabilities to lift heavy objects and work under adverse weather and emergency conditions.
