WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT LABORER

An Employee in this position will need to be involved in the Wastewater Treatment Plant while performing a variety of skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled duties pertaining to the Amity Township Waste Water Treatment Plant, requiring strenuous physical effort and occasional exposure to inclement working conditions. Refer to Job Description below for further details (Note work hours are 7:00am to 3:00pm November to April – 6:00am to 3:00pm Mon to Thurs and 6:00am to 10:00am Friday May thru October). Overtime every third weekend and possible during weather events and road dept. assistance. Subject to Wastewater Treatment Superintendent direction.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  2. Skill & Knowledgeable in routine plant maintenance of equipment, vehicles, buildings, grounds, unclogging pumps valves, pipes, some minor electric work(minimum 1-years).
  3. Ability to learn operation of new equipment and specialized pieces.
  4. Valid CDL required
  5. Valid Class B Type 1 Wastewater License
  6. Ability to learn new techniques, applications and procedures and make recommendations to the Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent.
  7. Ability to carry out both verbal & written instructions
  8. Sufficient physical strength, stamina, and freedom from disabilities to lift heavy objects and work under adverse weather and emergency conditions.
