The Reading Area Transportation Study Coordinating Committee announces the availability for citizens, local governments and interested organizations to review and comment on the following documents: the Draft FFY 2027-2050 Long Range Transportation Plan, Draft FFY 2027-2030 Transportation Improvement Program, Draft Air Quality Conformity Analysis, and the Draft Community Demographic Assessment for Berks County. These are planning documents that list various roadway, public transit, and off-road transportation projects and planning efforts in Berks County. The Long Range Transportation Plan provides detailed background materials on Berks County’s land use, demographics, and transportation system and makes recommendations for addressing deficiencies and new issues. The Transportation Improvement Program serves as a capital budget and provides details on transportation projects to be undertaken over the next four (4) years. https://bit.ly/RATS-CommentPeriod
The public review and comment period extends through April 24, 2026. There will be four public meetings held during this period to review the plans and accept comments:
- In Person – Tuesday, April 7 beginning at 1:30PM in the first floor Conference Room at Berks County South Campus (400 E. Wyomissing Ave., Mohnton, PA 19540)
- In Person – Tuesday, April 14 beginning at 6:00PM in the Harvest Room at the Berks County Agricultural Center (1238 County Welfare Road, Leesport, PA 19533)
- Virtual – Tuesday, April 21 beginning at 11:00AM using Microsoft Teams*
- Virtual – Tuesday, April 21 beginning at 6:00PM using Microsoft Teams*
