SANITARY SEWER LATERAL INSPECTION REQUIREMENT
At the December 21, 2022 Board of Supervisor’s meeting, the Board adopted Ordinance No. 331 (amending our Sewer Use Regulations Part 3 of the Amity Township Code of Ordinances, adding Section 316) requiring the inspection; and if necessary, disconnection of illegal connections and/or repair of private sanitary sewer laterals prior to the sale/transfer of improved properties. Effective January 1, 2023

Sewer Lateral Inspection Standards
- Inspections will be scheduled through the Amity Township Code Enforcement Office through: kkeifrider@amitytownshippa.com or by calling 610-953-0045
- Inspections are performed on Monday & Tuesday of each week with 5 business days’ notice.
- The inspection company is required to coordinate the inspection with the homeowner, realtor or person requesting the inspection so that they are present for the inspection.
- An inspector from Amity Township must be present for the inspection.
- An exact time for the inspection is required. “Window” times are not permissible. The inspector is required to be present within 15 minutes of the inspection time.
- A quality video of the sewer lateral must be provided to the Amity Township inspector. Flash drive or cloud based videos are acceptable but must be provided the same day of the inspection.
- All sewer laterals on the property must be successfully videoed for the inspection to be complete (curb to structure).
- If the inspection company cannot perform the inspection due to operator or equipment deficiencies, a new application for inspection will be required.
- Failure to adhere to the standards listed above may result in revocation of Certificate of Fitness.
